Jerry : I got these from Staples. They are clear plastic file folders so I can see the baby chicks without opening it up. The 40 watt light bulb keeps it nice and warm in there. The plastic containers makes it real easy to clean. I keep them in a spare bathroom. One container will hold 24 babies until they are about three weeks old. Then I split them up to 12 a container. If it gets too warm and the chicks move to get away from the warm light, I slide it open a little to let the heat out. At the first few days, they all stay close to the light. I have raised baby ducks in them too. Baby ducks are wet and messy and the plastic containers work real well to keep the mess corraled. After I move them out, I clean it and put it all in a garbage bag and save it until the next time. |
